The staff to be employed at this new factory will follow the usual training at MAS before they begin work. On completion, the factory will start its operations with 350 staff, and could grow to 450 by the end of next year. There will also be 50 non-direct employees at the plant.

"All staff will be trained in Sustainable Manufacturing. They will also have extensive training on Sustainable life style management and environmental preservation techniques. In addition to the training provided by MAS by experts in the industry, EFL (Environmental Foundation Ltd) in conjunction with environmental NGO partners of M&S" said Dian Gomez.

MAS has already secured 50,000 M of fair trade organic cotton from Arvind Mills and will continue to source environmental friendly raw material from fair trade certified suppliers, use recycled packaging.

The MAS Intimates Eco plant expects to have cost benefits in areas of lighting, heating and cooling through employing lean production processes using solar power, harvesting rain water and recycling waste.
