101st Import & Export Fair to open soon!

The 101st session of China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair for short) will be held simultaneously in Pazhou Complex and Liuhua Complex in Guangzhou, from April 15-30, 2007.
It is learned that the session first sets an import pavilion. General booths are 31682 (274 new booths), exhibition area is about 630,000 square meters. Import pavilion is at Pazhou fair hall, with 629 booths and 10,400 square meters of exhibition area.
Exhibits are put in two major categories by industries and consumer products, and in nine product sectors. There will be total 314 enterprises from 36 countries and regions to participate the exhibition.
Export sector is divided into five major categories and 34 exhibition areas, with 31053 booths in general, and an exhibition area of about 620,000 square meters. About 14,430 companies will participate the session.
According to the Ministry of Commerce, the fair has also invited the LDC countries announced by the UN to this session. And finally the session provides 7 standard booths free of charge to 7 enterprises from 6 LDC countries.
The 101st fair will enhance the protection of intellectual property rights, and increase the penalties for violations of intellectual property rights.
Meanwhile the session sets the new provisions relating to the protection of intellectual property rights of import pavilion. It has also revised the 'complaints and approach of alleged violations of intellectual property rights'.
At present, China Import and Export Fair has partners in 29 countries all over the world, and 36 organizations in total.
