NCEUS to continue its work on unorganised sector

The National Commission for Enterprises in the Unorganised Sector which has already submitted six reports on the state of affairs in the 450 million strong unorganized sector contributing 90% of the India's workforce.

Its reports on Social Security, Conditions of Work and Financing of micro enterprises have been received well by the Govt and the stakeholders and its recommendations on the social security are before the Parliament in the shape of Bill.

The National Commission has been given an extension now upto 31st March, 2009 in order to enable it to complete its ongoing work on Labour reforms and unemployment insurance scheme, special programme on small and marginal farmers, skill development and employment generation apart from sector specific studies.
