In order to enhance the trade with Brunei Darussalam, a Joint Study Negotiation is presently going on and is likely to get over by early next year. High officials from both nations had gathered to discuss the issue during third Joint Study Group Meeting that recently took place in Islamabad.

Sources informed Fibre2fashion that experts are exploring various possibilities which can boost the economic and trade relations between these two countries. Only if the final result of the study is positive, then Government of Brunei and Pakistan will sign the FTA. The Agreement will become functional after the fourth round of Joint Study Negotiation, which is expected to take place in Brunei Darussalam in February 2009.

The reports will be submitted soon to the officials of both countries, so that they can go through it carefully before inking this much awaited FTA.

This initiative from the Pakistani Government, is a part of the effort which is being made to strengthen its trade and economic relations with other ASEAN regions.
