Jilin province recently organized a forum themed 'African Investment and Finance' in Changchun city. Local Government officials, African diplomatic representative in China, as well as many entrepreneurs took part in this event.

It was noted that Jilin provincial companies were keen to invest in African leather industry, especially in Ethiopia which is one of the top leather producing countries in world.

Companies from the province have already set up 17 enterprises in Africa, with a total investment of over US $40 million.

Jilin companies are also looking to expand their market share in Africa. Statistics show that in the first 7 months of this year, the province exported products worth more than $100 million to Africa, representing a year-on-year surge of 46 percent. Clothing was one of the key export products.

Both parties expressed their desire to strengthen trade relations and develop efficient cooperation plan.
