'Footwear Expo 2008', the definitive event for the footwear industry in the Middle East region, has commenced its three-day run today (November 03, 2008) at the Crowne Plaza in Dubai.
The event will serve as a powerful platform for regional and international companies aiming to showcase their products and developments in technology, equipment and services to the Middle East's burgeoning footwear market.
Furthermore, the organiser has revealed that the exhibition has attracted a total of 70 international exhibitors from 17 countries, including U.S.A., Australia, Brazil, Turkey, Italy, Indonesia, South Africa, Thailand, India, Greece, Pakistan, Spain, Bangladesh, Egypt, China, Vietnam and the UAE.
In addition to providing a launch pad for manufacturers' products, the exhibition will also assist buyers, traders, importers and exporters in sourcing supplies of a wide selection of high quality footwear products, as well as in establishing key networks within the regional footwear market.
A total of 1500 sq. m. of exhibition space has been assigned by the organiser to accommodate the 3000 visitors who are expected to attend.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Raees Ahmed, Director, Orange Fairs & Events, said,”'Footwear Expo 2008' addresses the importance of a common platform for the regional and international footwear industry, where they can exhibit their world-class products to a global audience.
This extensive gathering, wherein industry players can further strengthen their foreign ties while contributing to the overall growth of this global industry, is being supported by footwear organisations whose aims is to boost the potential of this sector in terms of revenues and creation of more jobs.
We are proud of the work we have done for this event, and I am hoping to see the continuance of 'Footwear Expo' in the years to come.”
Another strong drawing factor of the event is the endorsement and participation of international public ministries and industry bodies responsible for advancing their countries footwear industry, such as Gruppo Technica – Greece, Ana Tech – U.S.A., Hanshin – South Korea, Bloch International – Australia, Risen Footwear – Hong Kong.
The growing global interest in the Asian footwear market – particularly in the Middle East, is being driven by its rapidly rising value, with the region posing great potential to overshadow Europe to become the largest footwear market in the world.
The exhibition will also feature the Brazilian pavilion hosted by ABICALDOS, who are seeking to grow their share of or penetrate the booming global footwear market, which is projected to have a value of USD 192.4 billion by 2010.
“We have launched 'Footwear Expo 2008' in response to the growing Middle East market for footwear and leather products, and we are delighted to see the extensive participation of exhibitors from across the globe.
The overwhelming interest for the exhibition by international exhibitors reiterates the importance of having this kind of event, which will give them a great opportunity to gain exposure for their various products, their new designs as well as their innovative manufacturing technologies.
The presence of top footwear manufacturing countries reaffirms how important the Middle East market is, which gives us motivation to stage a bigger show next year,” concluded Ahmed.
