China's exports of leather garment reached 5,740,000 pieces in the period, January to June 2009, worth US $260 million.
This represents a year-on-year decline of 34.4 percent in volume and 29.9 percent in value for the above mentioned period.
However, China's imports of leather garments registered a growth over the same period and touched 30,000 pieces.
This indicates a growth of 17.4 percent year-on-year and import value reached $9.17 million, down 12.9 percent year-on-year.
