Advanstar Communications, organizers of leading licensing events Brand Licensing Europe and Licensing International Expo, have confirmed strong industry support for Brand Licensing Central & Eastern Europe since announcing dates earlier this year.

The event will bring the region's most active licensors and agents face-to-face with local and international retailers, consumer goods manufacturers and sales promotion professionals to capitalize on the surge in popularity of licensed merchandise.

Over 50% of the available stand space is now reserved for the event taking place on 8-9th March 2010 at the VAM Design Center in Budapest. Properties that will be represented include Jimi Hendrix, Thomas and Friends, Pingu, Bob the Builder, Lego, Peppa Pig, Fifi and the Flowertots, The Simpsons, Ice Age and Roary The Racing Car.

Local event partners are working with Advanstar to market the event to their established online communities and readers. Partners include PMR, providers of retail market information and services to the Central and Eastern Europe countries, global retail intelligence experts, Planet Retail and BAATPE, the interface between Bulgarian apparel manufacturers and international buyers. More local event partners will be confirmed over the coming months.

Event director Jessica Blue commented: “We have been researching this territory for over a year and have been working hard behind the scenes to get the right event partners on board to ensure that we reach the best audience for our exhibitors. The consumer appetite for licensed merchandise continues to grow at an exponential rate, and now is a very exciting time to be involved in this marketplace. There is a real hunger for Western brands, thanks partly to the explosion in consumption of pay and digital TV and we are delighted to offer the industry this forum to do business.”
