Last October, Cintas, along with the Council of Better Business Bureaus (CBBB) and the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) broke the Guinness World Record for the most paper collected in 24 hours by shredding and recycling a total of 31,979 pounds of personal, confidential documents. The accomplishment was a result of the company's free shredding events, held in honor of Protect Your Identity Week. Throughout the week, Cintas recycled a total of 1,132,000 pounds of confidential documents at more than 175 identity theft protection events across the nation.
“We continuously host free shred events to help businesses and consumers protect their private information and make a positive impact on the earth,” added Carnahan. “We're proud to celebrate Earth Day by generating increased awareness about the importance of conservation, and we look forward to saving even more natural resources in 2012.”
