Fashion meet business to exceed last years sales of $3.3mn

The 30th Fashion Meeting in São Paulo, exclusively for women's fashion, ended yesterday.
It is expected to generate business beyond achievements of last year as more than 4,500 buyers and retailers from Brazil and other countries had visited the fair by January 26.
Previous year, six thousand national and foreign buyers visited and generated business worth R$ 7.3 million ($ 3.3 million), said the organizers.
The fair brought 114 garment producers from six Brazilian states together, presenting their products to national and international buyers from Latin America, Central America, the United States and the Middle East.
The products included knitting, silk work, viscose, serge, artistic embroidery, shirts, stretch, hand painted products, exclusive print products and leather, informed the Director of the fair, Sarah Vaintraub.
The Fashion Meeting also included companies which specialized in costume, jewelry and gems, artistic products and accessories in leather, she said.
The Fashion event has been actively supported by Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association, Brazilian Clothing Association, Association of the Textile Industry and the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service.
