BSF begins skill upgradation programme in Punjab

In its ongoing initiatives towards empowering rural women with skills and knowledge of innovative processes & products and preserve, sustain and disseminate cultural and indigenous craft knowledge systems, Business School of Fashion which is the nucleus of the Fashion Technology Park, kicks off its training programme for rural craftpersons at Derabassi from tomarrow.

The first in the series of training programmes, it is intended to strengthen and accelerate the capacity building process through enhancement of the design capability of the craft producers registered with the Fashion Technology Park.

Business School of Fashion (BSF) would be covering 30 villages in Derabassi town in its first phase of training programme. The training series include six workshops of 5-12 days duration each to be conducted every month on various aspects of aesthetics, production and market.

The main contents of the training programme would include colour concept & application, visual order, product conversion (accessories), visual thinking, product conversion (costumes), linear structure & construction, etc.

It is the unique initiative of the BSF to link the traditional skills of the people of Punjab with the contemporary demands. After the completion of the training programme, participants would be able to execute a range of viable marketable products for domestic & international market.
