LawnGrips offers safety footwear to avoid lawn-mowing accidents

For professionals landscaping in basic work boots and hobbyists gardening in old sneakers, Stark and his company, LawnGrips, offer a safer and more comfortable alternative.

"He was pushing around a heavy machine with dangerous cutting blades 12 inches from his feet in ratty, old sneakers that offered minimal traction and certainly no protection," Stark told.

"This work deserved a performance shoe."

Lawn-mowing accidents result in over 50,000 visits to US emergency rooms annually, so safety was the focus during the 18 months of development.

To improve traction on wet grass and uneven surfaces, LawnGrips has a patented, Grip-N-Go outsole developed by an inventor of several soccer shoe soles.

The company modified the gripping cleats for quick release of debris.

LawnGrips also offers an ASTM-approved steel toe with a higher profile for greater toe room and comfort.

"There is no other shoe developed specifically for landscapers and others who work on turf," said Stark.

"LawnGrips listened to the many complaints these professionals have about work boots currently on the market and made design changes for improved comfort, fit and wearability.

Response has been terrific."

LawnGrips innovative footwear is making old style work boots, like the one-use-fits all sneaker, a thing of the past for landscape and garden professionals and enthusiasts.
