Clothing division of Surya Inc's 'heavengirl' nationwide has discovered specialty girls' clothing label havengirl and they're not the only ones: Retailers have chosen havengirl as the top children's fashion line. The label took top honors in the children's category last week at the 31st Annual Dallas Fashion Awards (DFA), the apparel industry's premier retailer-chosen awards programs.
"We are thrilled to have won at the DFAs," stated havengirl designer and founder Briana Hersh. "This is a great honor because it is the retailers that ultimately decide who the winner will be in each category."
DFA winners are selected for their superior design innovation, quality workmanship and retail performance - three key areas where havengirl has outshone the competition since the line's launch less than five years ago. The line was inspired by Hersh's daughter, Haven, now seven years old. Offered in sizes 2-14, havengirl is made for the girl who wants a little something extra.
"havengirl maintains the fun feeling and functionality of a children's line," Hersh explained. "All pieces are embellished with beads, studs, embroideries, cutwork, shells, wood and whatever else interests us. Most everything in the line sparkles just like a little girl wants to."
And for that reason alone - never mind the line's durability and functionality - havengirl is in high demand. Hersh has a knack for designing fun, unique clothes little girls want to wear, without goingover the top.
