KSIC to launch its bridal wear during Makar Sankranti

Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation (KSIC) is planning to launch its bridal collection designed by a city-based professional, Deepika Govind during the festival of Makar Sankranti.
The KSIC designs will cater the needs of customers. They have created 65 saris in 12 varieties.
The corporation, an undertaking of the State Government had incurred a loss of Rs4 crore in 2003-04 and brought it down to Rs71 lakh in the fiscal year of 2004-05.
But for the first time in 2005-06, KSIC showed profit by earning Rs1.72 crore.
The KSIC has obtained geographical indication registration for its Mysore silk. Corporation boasts the status of becoming the first company to get a GI.
With the start of New Year, KSIC might improve its sales and profits further.
