Revision Eyewear to supply protective eyewear to US Army

Revision Eyewear has signed a new contract to provide the U.S. Army with over 175,000 sets of the Revision Sawfly U.S. Military Eyewear by mid-year 2007.
In addition to the 104,000 sets provided in last-half 2006, these protective glasses will be used in the Army's Training Base Eye Protection Program, in which all new recruits will wear Revision eyewear during training to protect their eyes and to familiarize them with routinely wearing protective eyewear.
“Our mission is to design and manufacture the highest quality ballistic eyewear that exceeds existing military requirements,” said Jonathan Blanshay, President, Revision Eyewear.
“We are proud to be part of the Army's Eye Protection Program that aims to educate soldiers about the importance of protective eyewear and how constant use of eye protection can significantly reduce battlefield eye injuries.”
More than half a million sets of the Revision Sawfly Spectacle System have now been fielded around the world. Soldier feedback has been universally positive on the eyewear performance, especially in combat situations where these glasses have demonstrably saved soldiers' eyesight.
Sawfly spectacles, available in two sizes to ensure superior fit, have interchangeable, high-impact polycarbonate lenses giving an undistorted, unrestricted field of view and 100% UV protection. Comfortable and well ventilated, compatible with helmets, night vision gear, weapons sights and binoculars, the Sawfly can also be customized for prescription vision correction.
