High attendance marks LINEAPELLE Bologna in April 2007

Increased interest in next Spring-Summer collections was confirmed by the success of the exhibition, with the number of visitors growing by 6% (Italian origin) and 5% (visitors from the rest of the world) as compared to last year.
As for foreign visitors, the greatest numbers came from Spain, Great Britain, the US, Portugal and China. The current boost in the market is confirmed by the fact that the majority of visitors arrived in Bologna with no earlier registration.
An important element was the growth in the number of foreign buyers, which will seemingly reach 10% as compared to the total of the 2 events held in 2006. In particular, the Germans and the French grew strongly.
The number of Italian visitors can be estimated at approximately 12,700 buyers, while the foreigners reached 9,600. The quality of the contacts was rated as good and satisfying by most exhibitors (1274 from 47 different countries), who offered a few novelties and styling and technical updates.
Only few companies actually did not meet the expectations with their sample collections. The price of raw materials – both natural and synthetic – was stable, except for some rises in the price of skins, as well as of crocodile skins.
Orders from leather goods and footwear destinations were the most promising, while garments remained stable and furniture slacking. For all markets, some troubles remain in terms of satisfying profits, because consumers' prices for all ranges except for the top range must still be kept fairly low.
