The Canadian firm Faces Cosmetics, which mainly operates through franchise model, plans to strike the booming Indian beauty market with its personal grooming accessories, chiefly skin care and anti-ageing products.

A Memorandum of Understanding has been inked between Faces Cosmetics and an Indian partner in April, to grip the market with franchise stores across the country.

Faces Cosmetics is also offering aesthetic treatments through the stores within shopping centers.

Faces has become the newest competitor along with other International players like Estee Lauder, L'Oreal and Chanel to lure the upper and upper-middle class consumers.

Indian cosmetic shares 10 percent of the global market which accounts for US $36 billion. Statistics divulge that business opportunities in the country have grown over 60 percent from late 1990s.
