Pearl Academy, India's leading institution in design, fashion, creative business and media is opening a new campus in Rajouri Garden, which will be in addition to its existing campus at Naraina. The new campus is designed as a contemporary architectural canvas with digitally-enhanced classrooms and collaborative spaces for the 21st century learner.

The campus, designed around the needs of design students, is meant also to provide an unprecedented opportunity to students from different spheres of design to come together and learn diverse aspects of design under one roof.

There are industrial glazed studios and libraries full of resources for creative disciplines. The new facility of Pearl Academy is a modern structure with state-of-the-art hybrid blended labs for courses like Communication Design, Product Design, Pattern Making and Garment Construction, and has over 250 workstations that can accommodate 300 students for each session. Moreover, the building also maintains the global sustainability standards by following best practices such as energy-efficient lighting and having treatment plants for waste management and disposal.

Colours have been used mindfully through the campus, with close attention paid to their potential, to impact one's mind and emotions. Clear cool white, blues and greens are dominant hues. Splashes of energising orange are tempered with stabilising greys across the new Rajouri Garden Campus.

Prof Nandita Abraham, CEO - Pearl Academy, said, "I am happy to share that our new Rajouri Garden campus will get operational shortly. This campus is truly an interdisciplinary hub. Here, students from different courses stay united on common ground. They have the unique opportunity to learn from cross exposure of the diverse aspects of design industry and by virtue of shared space; ideas, concepts and networks will flourish to find new forms of expression. Our campus is waiting for students and faculty to stamp their own identity onto the building - the walls and corridors are to be enlivened by installations, artworks, videos and other projects that will start bubbling as classes begin. This will not only enhance the learning environment of our students but will also make the facility one-of-its-kind to offer such unique assimilation of creative landscapes. With this new campus, Pearl Academy reaffirms its commitment to its students, the creative industries and society."

Excited to visit and learn at the new campus, Mayank Kumar, an interiors student at Pearl Academy said, "Our new campus is going to be power-packed with creativity. The design of the building has already started stimulating our creative juices and we are so looking forward to the classes at our modern and beautifully-designed campus. Learning here will be so much fun, I am super excited."

"As students walk through the building's carefully-crafted sequence of spaces, they will recognise our aspiration to create an environment that heightens the creative and design process. For instance, we have sliced openings of skylight into our academic wings, so that students receive natural light through the course of their day. The floor plan is designed with ample opportunities for collaboration, open spaces offering peaceful thinking spots and seamless extensions of classrooms. I am delighted at the idea of collaboration spaces at our new campuses which I am sure will boost sharing and exchange of great design ideas," shared an ecstatic, Antonio M Grioli, area head - School of Fashion, Styling and Textiles at Pearl Academy.

The academy is in its admission process for various design, fashion, business and media-oriented courses. The academy offers over 30 uniquely-designed under-graduate, post-graduate and professional development diplomas through its campuses in Delhi NCR, Jaipur and Mumbai.

The selection for the new academic year is done on the basis of written admission test and personal interview. Candidates who are in their final year of graduation can also apply for PG courses. Applicants with minimum qualifying scores in NIFT, NID, MAT, CAT, NATA, CEED will be entitled for the waiver of General Proficiency Test depending on the chosen course. Such applicants will be called for a personal interview directly subject to submission of valid scores. Interviews can also be conducted online. The academy offers merit-based scholarships and also facilitates education loans.

Pearl Academy has recently been recognised as an authorised study centre of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and will offer UGC recognised degree courses at its campuses in Delhi NCR and Mumbai. (SV)
