12 graduating fashion designers have been shortlisted as finalists from over 200 entries for the third edition of Isko I-Skool, a global fashion talent contest conceived by Isko and its style and design division, Creative Room.

“These designers have been shortlisted because they express the most accurate spirit of the three moods identified for the contest, Renovated Denim Icons, Jool and Athleisure,” an Isko press release stated.

The finalists are Elettra Bertoli from NABA, Italy; Nadja Kiess from AMD, Germany; Annie Ansell from UAL, UK; Joona Rautiainen from AALTO, Finland and Ester Rigato from IUAV, Italy.

Others include; Anna Biotti from IUAV, Farah Waly from Polimoda, Italy; Miranda Hochkoeppler also from Polimoda and Alina Peucher and Elena Trukhina, both from Esmod, Germany.

Two other designers Alessia Gozzano from NABA and Lisamarie Marolt from Esmod were chosen by the followers of Isko Iskool Facebook official page.

The shortlisted students will now take part in the unique Isko educational program, the Denim Seminar, that Isko explained, has become a point of reference for the players of the denim industry,.

The first event was held on March 15t at Creative Room's headquarters in Italy, where the students experienced the entire denim supply chain right from cotton to finishing.

The program was held with the contribution of three important partners of the project, Avery Dennison RBIS, Archroma and Swarovski.

The next step of the educational phase is scheduled for early April, when the shortlisted students will share their ongoing projects with Creative Room, which will help them transform their ideas into real garments.

All items will be assembled following the sketches and technical details submitted by students and they will be at the centre of attention during the glamorous grand finale.

“Isko I-Skool is unleashing its deep commitment to education once again and getting increasingly involved in spurring students' passion,” Marco Lucietti, global marketing director of Isko said.

“Our mission is to give them the freedom to let their creativity run wild and at the same time, provide them with the practical knowledge of how to produce their designs industrially,” Lucietti added. (AR)
