Ace Indian designers Anita Dongre and Manish Malhotra will showcase their creations at the India Couture Week (ICW) 2017. The event will begin from July 24, 2017. The week-long fashion event will witness participation of 14 designers from across the country in New Delhi. ICW by Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) will complete ten years this year.

ICW 2017 is an amalgamation of handcrafted luxury, diaphanous silhouettes, and a combination of glamour with poise as we bring to life engaging stories through a melange of hues. Designer Anita Dongre will present her collection on July 29, 2017 while Manish Malhotra is the closing designer for ICW 2017.

Anita Dongre's Couture'17 collection 'Tree of Love' is a homage to the Bishnoi tribe of the Thar in Rajasthan. The key motif of the collection finds its inspirational roots in ‘khejri’ – a super species of trees that withstands the harshest climate conditions and flourishes to remain evergreen.

“I have been a part of India Couture Week for 8 years now. I am excited about my upcoming show as it's the fourth time I will be doing a closing show for the platform. 2017 is a special year for the label as it completes 12 years with a robust expansion plan underway. The end of this year will see our Delhi flagship store space growing to become the largest standalone Indian designer store. The showcase at India Couture Week will be a stellar experience that is befitting these milestones and will present Manish Malhotra label's new design direction through the lens of Couture," Manish Malhotra said.

"The ICW has entered its tenth year and what has been most interesting is that our couturiers have influenced the evolution of the luxury consumer. They have not just been revivalists, but also innovators. Our embroideries and hand done crafts have found a place on the world map too that is why it is imperative to promote the 'Make in India’ endeavour. We hope to create a new language of high definition glamour through our celebrations," Sunil Sethi, president, FDCI, said. (RR)
