Raman Vij presents his latest collection at Lakme Fashion Week. With a title like “Warriors of the Forbidden Kingdom” the inspiration has to be the Samurai and Ninjas of Japan for Raman Vij, an expert in knitwear designing. Showing his skills in the art of creative knitwear, Raman's collection was a study in intricate style and technical knowledge.

Amazingly crafted dresses with unbelievable detailing like layered collars, cuffs, shoulders, sleeves and hemlines in knit were visions of intricate garment production and manufacture. Using muted colours like grey, military green, ivory and brown Raman had a collection of women's and three men's outfits with great knitting techniques.

The opening check weaved dress set the mood for the collection as the flat bed transfer knit dress was followed by heavy frilled knit dress in mohair, an acrylic smart satin and suede creation with French knots at the waist band, an elegant popcorn knit dress draped and hand sewed and the argyle knitted dress with cap sleeves.

Men's wear comprised Lurex jacket with turtle quilted embroidery, a butt and cable cardigan in pure wool and a long coat with French knot embroidery. Here was an excellent knit Autumn/Winter collection which was of international standard from Raman Vij which will appeal to the global buyers.

Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW) is jointly organized by Lakmé, the No.1 cosmetics and beauty services brand in India and IMG Reliance, the global leader in fashion weeks and event production. LFW has been conceived and created with a vision to “Redefine the future of fashion and Integrate India into the global fashion world”. LFW is organized twice every year.
