Designer Sanchita showcases her Autumn/Winter collection for 2012-13 at Wills Fashion Week. The sanchita collection for A/W 2012-13 interprets the theme innovation by deepening the bond forged by fashion and art in a mix of avant-garde forms and modular pieces where utilitarian details and hi-tech arts and crafts create eye-catching counterpoints.

In a dimensional play of cuts, layers, textural expressions, kinetic elements and fluid visual patterns, the collection translates Japanese influences, samurai aesthetics and kabuki motifs into a contemporary idiom, while alchemies and innovative approaches create a continuum of coordinated opposites.

The focus is on body shape, motion and functional ease.

The clothing is scripted into a subversive fashion commentary that pays tribute to the femininity and grace, vulnerability and valour, dreams and desires of the modern woman, giving the collection a unique urban vibe.

The Collection
• Structural and collapsible dresses in supple nappa or cotton jersey.

• Trapeze, tulip, straight, partly structured and collapsible skirts of varying lengths.
• Leggings, wide-legged, gaucho, track and nappa pants.

• Leather and jersey knits with chunky twisted and tasselled strands.

• Ribbed jersey daywear.

• Couture t-shirts and t-dresses reworked in basic patterns; structured, collapsible or a combination of both.

• Draped t-shirts with gold and pewter filigree prints or embroideries.

• Peplum and biker jackets in nappa.

• Evening and cocktail dresses in printed chiffon with degradé domed teardrop embroidery, woven paillette tassels and silk fur.

• Tasselled and silk fur shrugs.

• Gauzy twisted 1950s-style ponchos.
