Diesel fashion show has a blast at Life Ball in Vienna

Diesel was once again a protagonist of the most glamorous and sparkling fashion show ever: the Life Ball. The high-profile Austrian event – an established platform in the fight against AIDS - celebrated its 20th edition this year.

Diesel, who had co-hosted the show in 2006, was on stage once again alongside many of the fashion designers of the gala's previous editions, bringing its unconventional and provoking attitude with incredible outfits that followed the inspirational motto of this year's Life Ball, “Fight the Fire of Ignorance”.

Diesel replied in its own way to the question “how do we burn the prejudices?” The answer couldn't be anything else but LOVE: an interpretation of love that digs into the brand's DNA and heritage. In the famous series of “Diesel for Successful Living” advertising, the iconic David LaChapelle shot of two sailors kissing is still regarded as a powerful message of embracing diversity.

Diesel takes it one step further and the stage hosted a wedding where the brides and grooms were as unpredictable as much as they were glamorous. Celebrities and models such as Adam Senn, Tali Lennox (model daughter of Annie Lennox), and supermodels Olga Serova and Eva Riccobono were modeling during this incredible night. Renzo Rosso, president and founder of Diesel, declared: “I am glad to be here again to celebrate this important anniversary, and the fight against HIV, with a strong statement: a wedding where the prejudices are destroyed through love”.

The fantastic fashion show proposed five looks:

Two men: The first outfit, a tuxedo in a shiny, coated black denim with a sparkling harness and lateral studded stripes on trousers. The second outfit was a tailcoat, also in shiny, coated black denim, studs and rhinestones on reverse and trouser stripes. Buttoned jackets over nude skin, cummerbund in leather, and a bow tie and collar for a smart dress code…not forgetting the bouquet!

Two women: One bride in white bleached denim; a bustier taken from a 5-pocket jacket with a skirt in the same material. Crinoline to create extra volume and tulle to blow the tail. The front of the skirt is short to represent the sexy attitude, sweetened by a bouquet in bleached denim and chiffon. The second bride is a rocker, sporting a bustier in white leather with studded cups and big zips. The skirt in ripped voile chiffon, short in the front, is combined with white biker leather boots.

The 5th element of the fashion show was Eva Riccobono dressed in a red tuxedo made of velvet and satin worn with a chiffon shirt. A symbolic character representing not only the fire of the Ball, the iconic red ribbon of the fight against AIDS, and Diesel's distinctive colour, but also a representation of a cardinal, the holy witness of this solemn pact.
