BFC announces senior management team

The British Fashion Council announced the appointment of Clara Mercer, Gemma Ebelis and Jenico Preston to the roles of Head of Marketing, PR and Sponsorship respectively.

Their promotion will see them join the British Fashion Council’s senior management team with immediate effect.

They will support the BFC Executive Board Harold Tillman CBE, Chairman; Caroline Rush, CEO; Simon Ward, COO; Chris Inman OBE, Treasurer and Anya Hindmarch MBE, non-exec director, to deliver and develop the British Fashion Council’s strategic goals.

Strategic Consultant, Anna Orsini, will continue to support the BFC and the new senior management team, through offering expert advice and support in their new roles as well as identifying key International opportunities.

Caroline Rush, CEO commented “The British Fashion Council has grown significantly over the past three years, promoting British designer businesses to a global audience through high profile events such as London Fashion Week, the British Fashion Awards and London Collections, which launches this week.

“This new, dynamic senior management team will provide essential support to focus on strategy and innovation, identify opportunities that deliver profile and value for the sector and strengthen the organisation’s ability to promote and support growth for designer UK based designer businesses.”

The British Fashion Council appointed its first full time management team in 2009 to deliver its 25th anniversary celebrations and a legacy programme to enhance on-going support and promotion for British designers businesses.

Over the past few years the organisation has further enhanced the profile and support offered to designers through its NEWGEN programme sponsored by Topshop.

It introduced NEWGEN MEN sponsored by Topman in September 2009 and through the BFC designer support pathway has developed The BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund, The BFC/Bazaar Fashion Arts Foundation, the BFC/ELLE Talent Launchpad, an innovative digital strategy, including Fash/On Film sponsored by River Island, and a business and cultural Ambassador programme.
