Fashionistas await Mrs Obama's dress at Inaugural Ball

Fashion enthusiasts the world over are keenly awaiting to have the first glimpse of Michelle Obama’s dress at the Inaugural Ball that is to take place after President Barack Obama is sworn into his second term in office.

When President Obama was first sworn in 2009, the first lady wore a white chiffon one-shouldered piece designed by then upcoming Taiwanese-born designer Jason Wu, who became popular overnight.

No doubt, this time too, the fortune of the designer whose dress is picked up by the first lady for the Inauguration is likely to change.

Over the last four years, Michelle Obama has influenced women’s fashion to a great extent with her choice of bold colours, bare arms, and her propensity to mix labels.

The forecast for this year’s inauguration ball, which may or may not come true, is that the first lady will opt to wear emeralds as Pantone has declared emerald as the Colour of the Year for 2013.

However, during the next four years, fashionistas expect the first lady to continue appearing in Prabal Gurung and Naeem Khan designed costumes, as she had done during the past four years.
