The 15th Anniversary VIP Opening presented by Commonwealth Bank of Australia and the McGrath Foundation provides the perfect taster of Western Australian fashion featuring designs from Empire Rose, Flannel, Morrison, One Fell Swoop, Ruth Tarvydas and Zhivago. To celebrate the Crystal anniversary, each designer will showcase their own interpretation of the iridescent gem.
An Evening with Camilla and Marc offers a captivating fashion experience as the 2013 Resort collection Suprematist will be served up alongside a decadent three-course meal. The event will help raise awareness and funding for the McGrath Foundation.
An array of free events will return to Fashion Central in Forrest Place this year, including crowd favourite Carillon City Fashionably Loud, where East coast DJ duo The Faders will provide a live soundtrack to the latest fashion trends.
Across the city fashion bloggers and stylists will be getting involved with the op shop fashions of Restyle, a project aiming to educate the public on ready-to-wear fashion whilst supporting our community, while local artists and retailers team up for Windows of the City.
Reclaiming the ‘ladies who lunch’ moniker, Marie Claire editor Jackie Frank and IMG Fashion’s Elle Persson will deliver insight into the commercial side of fashion over a two course lunch at The Business Behind the Glamour.
Fashion Paramounts stand-alone event Jaime Lee presented by TABtouch promises to deliver a whimsical and mesmerising runway show, showcasing the labels signature use of impressionistic colour and intricately embellished textiles.
Two Designer Capsules will return along with WA Designer Collections, all three supported by the Department of Culture and the Arts, The National Showcase and Student Runway along with many other fashion events and activities available to the public.
This year’s closing event, ELLERY CLOSING presented by Newmont, will unveil a Fine Jewellery piece made from Newmont Gold by Perth-born designer ELLERY, alongside her Vitreous Resort 2014 collection. Dressing It-girls across the globe, ELLERY’s designs are not to be missed at this remarkable standalone show.
“I’m so excited to be celebrating PFF’s fifteenth birthday as we reach a significant milestone in WA’s fashion history. More than ever I’m so proud to be showing what we have to offer as a fashion forward state to our local, national and international guests,” said Perth Fashion Festival Director Mariella Harvey-Hanrahan.
“To me fashion is about being accessible to everyone and using the language of fashion to empower others, and that’s what we’ll see at the 2013 Perth Fashion Festival.”
