Italian industry powerhouses like Armani and Versace showcased their latest lines of eclectic Spring/Summer 2015 looks at the just wrapped up edition of Milan Fashion Week (MFW).

The Varese-based fashion house Missoni, under the aesthetic guidance of Angela Missoni, showcased a stripe heavy collection infused with bohemian vibes. Adorned with vertical, horizontal and chevron stripes, the delicate pink, deep purple, bright orange, fiery red, yellow and Aegean blue hued line included diaphanous maxi dresses, draped kaftans, belted sundresses, flowing tunics, swishing trousers and lightweight knit pieces.

The Italian luxury leather goods specialist Tod’s, under the creative direction of the Bergamo-born designer Alessandra Facchinetti, featured an interesting womenswear line replete with crisp lines and accents of bold colours and refined leather on the third day of the Milanese soiree. The standouts were double-breasted denim trouser suits, yellow and turquoise hued jackets and soft, loosely fitted palm print long skirts.

Versace’s creative head Donatella Versace went for body skimming flattering shapes unlike the house’s signature form fitting silhouettes for the next season. Based in long, lean and sharp cuts, the range showcased white striped black suits, zig-zag patterned mini dresses, single buttoned thigh grazing jackets, asymmetrical skorts, mid-riff baring tops and crystal adorned evening dresses.

Italian design veteran Giorgio Armani brought lightness on the runway through his airy fabrics crafted line titled Sand on the fourth and penultimate day of the event. The major highlights included straight relaxed trousers, dune painted organza skirts, gathered chiffon dresses, elegantly beaded cocktail numbers, sheer organza harem pants, cropped tulle trousers, and jackets in a variety of styles such as cropped, swinging, three-buttoned, embroidered and knit silk.

Italian fashion label Marni ushered the fresh spring season exuberance with its flower heavy range on the final day of MFW. The featured taupe linen, cotton and silk made pieces were long ruffled skirts with brocade patchwork details, draped floral tops, wide-legged trousers, belted boat neck tunics and silver studded disc stamped eveningwear creations.
