More than 26 young and seasoned Indian designers will showcase their freshest spring/summer 2015 collections at the forthcoming 12th edition of Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week, due to take place from January, 22 to 25, 2015.

The event, which will stage some 28 catwalk parades, will feature latest creations from 10 leading fashion industry names like Deepika Govind, Arjun Khanna, Priya Kataria Puri, Rehane and Michelle Salins.

Bespoke bridal and occasionwear specialist, Soucika, will feature a floral-inspired range titled ‘Kalyanasougandhikam’ at the soiee. Created by the brand’s designer Kamal Raj Manickath, the pieces have been made using intricate handmade lace, laser cut fabrics, brocade, sequins and shimmery details. Based on body flattering silhouettes, the ensembles are adorned with aari, zardozi and appliqué works as well as patterns of lavenders, carnations, amaryllis, daffodils, orchids and lilies.

Feroz Khan, event director at fashion week organizer, Dream Merchants, said in a statement, “Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week is growing from strength to strength with each season, it's endlessly rewarding and thrilling to be able to see the trajectory of growth. With the 12th Edition and 2 International Editions under our belt, we are undoubtedly one of the best and most pioneering fashion weeks in the country. We hope to continue our streak of pioneering innovations in the future”.

Speaking about the soiree, Raja Banerji, assistant vice president at the title sponsor distilled beverage brand’s owner, Pernod Ricard India, said “At Blenders Pride, it’s a very proud moment for all of us as we celebrate another year of our long standing association with Bangalore Fashion Week. We have set the stage for the various designers to celebrate style and build our positioning on ‘Taste life in Style’ like never before”.

In addition to glitzy runway shows, the 12th edition will also pay tribute to traditional weavers of India. The Indian online shopping destination Snapdeal.com will stage an exclusive indigenous design-centric show in collaboration with traditional weavers.

Also a multi-designer store stocking and selling participating designer clothes, a fashion museum showcasing various innovations and milestones in fashion, and a style corner offering style tips to the visitors will also be featured at the event. (PB)
