Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, India's biggest business of fashion event, announced the list of participating designers, which includes a combination of fashion czars and promising young designers from across the country.

The WIFW Autumn/Winter 2008 edition will showcase collections by 84 designers on the runway and in the stalls. With a total of 40 shows and 61 designers on the show schedule over five action-packed days, WIFW A/W 2008 will exhibit the very best of the Indian fashion industry under one roof.

The designers will be showcasing their collections under the three new categories – Contemporary, Synthesis/ Heritage and Creator, which have been introduced for the first time, this edition.

The show schedule clearly demarcates the different categories by clubbing the designers showcasing under one category. Working towards simplifying and systematising the Fashion Week to benefit the buyers and media, Wills Lifesyle India Fashion Week has grown to become bigger and better than ever before.

Announcing the names of participating designers and show schedule for WIFW A/W 2008, Rathi Vinay Jha, Director General, FDCI, said, “Designers are the core of the fashion industry and play an important role in shaping fashion trends in India.

This year we received an overwhelming response from the designers who wanted to participate in the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week A/W 2008.

After great deliberation we have managed to draw a list including both reputed and budding designers who have the right blend of creativity and commercial viability. I wish all the participating designers the very best as they gear up to participate at India's biggest fashion week”
