IFF leaves its mark at global fashion industry

Istanbul enjoyed the attention of global fashion industry during 11th International Fashion Fair(IFF) which held from February 7 to 9. This proved to be a great platform for the country to showcase all its textile related products in the world market.
The show was flagged off by Özlem Süer, with his awe-inspiring designs. In 2007, he was given the best designer award at IFF. Özlem infused a graphic touch in his creations, which received a lot of appreciation.
Country's famous designers like Hakan Yildirm, Ümit Ünal, Tuvana Büyükçinar, Mehtap Elaidi along with the French couturier Jean Luc Amsler, participated in the expo to make it rich and glamorous. Not only established designers but budding ones like Gamze Saraçoglu also gained a lot out of the event.
Gamze showcased a collection of 60 garments for women which included cocktail wear also. Her two new lines 'Saraçoglu' and 'Purely', were designed out of organic fabric, which is gaining popularity in the international market.
The country's fast growth in the field of textile and fashion can be seen from the fact that this fair has become one of Turkey's biggest events. IFF, saw more than 200 foreign and local designers and industry people gather for growing their foreign trade.
IFF provided ample opportunity to the entire industry, as the fair brought professional buyers from world over together with exhibitors in Turkey with the full support of the Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade.
