Anju Modi literally enlightened her audience when she presented her collection for Autumn / Winter 2008 which she had named “Luminosity”.
The enigmatic creations related to her inspiration through a selection of most light weight and transparent fabrics in pale pastel shades ranging from nude tones to mint shades.
Gently coloured nets, georgettes and chiffons were tonally printed with traditional North Indian motifs and additionally bejeweled with delicate sparkling effects which caught and reflected the limelight intensively.
Refined ornamentations and finishing such as crochet and cut work carried the concept of luminosity further as did the golden details, which supplemented to the dreamy appeal of the creation.
The designer created fairy tale silhouettes including wide flowing light dresses, saris, dresses and skirts with attached veils and tunics - designed for elves who seem to float rather than walk on the ramp.
This collection was generated with a sensibility for traditional details applied and executed in a very tasteful pure manner and spoke clearly about retaining such kind of an Indian approach of dressing up a woman with style and grace.
