Stein Mart Inc announced that Glori Katz has been named senior vice president, marketing and advertising, for the 284-store national retailer.

Katz's career spans more than 25 years in marketing and advertising, with the last half of her career at Sears. She joined Sears in 1996 as brand advertising director for apparel and worked on Sears' famous "Softer Side" campaign.

In 2000, she was named director of advertising for Sears, and over the next eight years, developed creative strategies and led development of numerous advertising and marketing initiatives across multiple media.

Prior to her career with Sears, Glori spent two years with Jockey International as Vice President of Advertising, launching a new national campaign for Jockey and developing a licensing program for Tommy Hilfiger.

She began her career working for some of the nation's top advertising agencies: J. Walter Thompson Advertising in Detroit, Grey Advertising in New York and Ogilvy & Mather Advertising in Chicago. A native of Chicago, Glori holds a degree in journalism from Michigan State University.

"We are delighted to have Glori join our executive team and bring her well-rounded leadership to this critical area," commented Linda Farthing, president and chief executive officer for Stein Mart Inc.
