A satisfactory result for the 60th Fur & Fashion Frankfurt

The 60th International Trade Fair for Fur and Leather Garments closed its doors on Saturday, 8 March 2008, after a satisfactory three-day run. Frankfurt has been the home of the first and oldest trade fair for fur and leather fashions for 60 years.

The city on the River Main becomes the international meeting place for the world of fur and leather for several days every spring. This year, exhibitors from 15 countries presented their collections for autumn/winter 2008-09.

As always, the focus of the fair was on fashion. The range offered by the skin dealers and fur manufacturers showed clearly the great extent to which fur and leather are an integral part of the current fashion scene.

This was particularly evident at the Top Design in Fur & Fashion gala show, where visitors could see not only collections from the ready-to-wear trade but also furriers' models. All major fashion trends for the autumn/winter season were reflected by this fascinating exhibition by the entire sector.

An initial, provisional poll about the business results of the fair revealed a thoroughly positive mood. The majority of fur manufacturers and skin dealers said they were pleased to very pleased with the transactions conducted at the fair.

The number of trade visitors remained constant in comparison to the previous year. 40 percent of buyers came from outside Germany, many of them from Austria, Switzerland, the Benelux countries, Scandinavia and East Europe.
