Makeup artist Masa Ohtake wins Medal with Yellow Ribbon

Mr. Ohtake was born in 1948 in Niigata Prefecture. He joined Shiseido in 1969 after graduating from Shiseido Beauty Academy. He has been involved in Shiseido advertising and its HANATSUBAKI corporate culture magazine, and many of his hair/makeup designs and Creative works have been featured in women's and beauty specialists magazines.
No stranger to the global stage, Mr. Ohtake has appeared at numerous international hairs and makeup shows since becoming the first Japanese stylist to supervise model hair and makeup backstage at the 1976 Paris Collection.
Message from Masa Ohtake (Masayoshi Ohtake):
I am extremely honored to receive this award. My work in creating and promoting hair and makeup designs are part of the pursuit of beauty. In addition to the skill and knowledge required, I believe that the desire to create beauty plays an important role in developing original designs. I am constantly impressed with the depth and complexity of the world of hairdressing and makeup, a field in which there is no single definition of what it means to be beautiful.
In accepting this award for my efforts to create and communicate hair and makeup designs as well as my work in training a younger generation of beauticians and hairstylists, I am ever mindful that none of this would have been possible without the extraordinary support of my colleagues at Shiseido and many individuals throughout the beauty and hairstyling industry. I look forward to sharing my joy at receiving this recognition with all of those who have helped me to achieve it.
