Tommy Hilfiger, one of the world's most recognized premium lifestyle brands, was recently included in Women's Wear Daily's (WWD) annual "WWD 100" issue.

The "WWD 100" list names the top 100 brands female consumers know best, including categories such as accessories, denim, designers, outerwear, sportswear, and swimwear.

Tommy Hilfiger was named no1 on the "Top 10 Designer" list, in addition to clinching the no 16 spot on the "WWD 100" list.

Tommy Hilfiger Group recently reported financial results for the year ended March 31, with a net sales increase of 14.4%.

Stated founder and principal designer Tommy Hilfiger, "The inclusion of our brand to this prestigious list, and to be named no1 on the Top Ten Designers, is a true testament to the strength of the Tommy Hilfiger brand.

For over twenty years, we have offered consumers a range of classic, beautifully crafted designs and this confirms that the Tommy Hilfiger aesthetic and quality of product are what resonate with customers around the globe."

Tommy Hilfiger Group is poised for continued global growth under the leadership of founder Tommy Hilfiger and Chief Executive Officer Fred Gehring.

The Company currently distributes its products in over 60 countries, including North America, Europe, Central and South America, Japan, Hong Kong, and operates nearly 800 retail stores around the world.

In fall 2008, the brand will mark a homecoming when it opens its global flagship on Manhattan's Fifth Avenue in New York City (home to the first U.S. Hilfiger specialty store in 1985).

Also beginning in fall 2008, Macy's will become the first department store in the U.S. to carry Tommy Hilfiger men's and women's sportswear exclusively.
