Ermenegildo Zegna, the global men's luxury fashion brand known for its fine tailoring and innovative use of the most exquisite fabrics, presents its Fall/Winter 2008 Couture collection.
Couture is the pinnacle of Ermenegildo Zegna tailoring, characterised by rich luxurious details, noble materials and the trademark cross-stitch. The Couture line has been created with an atmosphere of refined simplicity and exquisite elegance, for captains of industries and leaders of nations alike.
Couture suits are the ultimate in handcrafted tailoring. Made in the brand's Italian artisan factories, each suit is fully canvassed, cut, constructed and handsewn by skilled craftsmen using the world's finest fabrics, each garment requiring 33,000 stitches.
In line with the refined culture of Italian evening attire, sumptuous silk and cotton velvet dinner jackets trimmed with silk borders, shawl collars and mother of pearl buttons are offered in burgundy, cobalt blue or midnight black with quilted stitch lapel details or delicately simple patch pockets.
Dressed up with evening lace-ups in high shine patent leather, corresponding pure silk bow ties and cumber bands, the look is completed by shaved fur scarves to give old world chic an updated edge.
Regal blues and sophisticated granite greys dominate the winter palette by day, with ultra luxurious blended '14milmil14' wools from the 'Lanifico Zegna' giving a soft and sumptuous touch to classic two-button and double-breasted tailoring.
The silhouette is flattering, styled closely following the contours of the body, with higher lapels, horn buttons and trademark cross stitch details. They are coordinated with limited edition Oxford shoes in crocodile skin or monk shoes with a hand polished cognac finish.
The brand applies an exclusive finishing process resistant to stain, which has resulted in luxurious fabrics. These 'no iron' shirts complete a sophisticated and yet nonchalant collection, in a subdued colour palate.
In addition, Ermenegildo Zegna offers a made-to-measure service in Dubai as an ultimate expression of luxury. It offers around 450 exclusive fabrics, patterns and colours produced by Lanificio Ermengildo Zegna for the outerwear, jackets, suits and coats alone. Hand stitched by Italian craftsmen in Stabio, Switzerland, each suit is marketed as an embodiment of sartorial perfection.
