Cape Town Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2009 took place from August 13 to 16 at Cape Town International Convention Centre. One of the biggest and most opulent gatherings in Africa, was sponsored by the stylish mobile company Virgin Mobile company.

The four day fashion bonanza witnessed renowned designers, buyers and glitteratis present at the venue, to enjoy some of the most creative and innovative designs that were exclusively made for this event.

Prominent South African designers and labels like Gavin Rajah, Rosenwerth, Hip Hop Clothing, Craig Port, Darkie, Stiaan Louw and Maya Prass showcased their stunning collections for S/S 09.

The creations of famous label Rosenwerth left the fashion conscious audience asking for more. The garments had a beautiful mix of tradition and modern patterns with splashes of cool colours. The evening cocktail dresses that were made using fabrics like satin and silk taffeta reflected sophistication and sensuality at the same time.

The extravagant event also gave opportunity to fresh and new talents for displaying their stunning range of clothing in front of professionals, who highly appreciated their efforts.

Every season, this most awaited fashion week brings forth latest trends for the fashionistas to follow and let the world know that Africa has a lot more to offer other than wild safaris.
