Hart Stores opens nine new locations stores

Hart Stores Inc an operator of mid-sized department stores, announced the opening of nine new stores, eight in the province of Quebec and one in Ontario.

A new location in Chambly, Quebec, was inaugurated this morning and two new locations will open their doors tomorrow in Portneuf and Ville-Marie, both in Quebec.

Following that, the Company will open its 14th store in Ontario in the city of Chelmsford on October 16th, and in Quebec, locations in Amos, La Sarre, La Malbaie, Paspediac and Iles-de-la-Madeleine will open their doors. More store openings are planned for spring for which the opening dates will be announced later.

Hart Stores President and Chief Executive Officer Michael Hart comments: "These new stores are an important addition to our current network which will further strengthen our position as a dominant player in many of the tertiary markets.

We continue to expand according to our strategic growth plans and now with 89 stores, we are confident that we will be able to reach our target of 100 stores.

The additions of these new locations will continue to provide efficiencies in our distribution, our marketing operations and increase our purchasing volume."
