The Swiss Textiles Award (conferred by the Swiss Textile Federation) and the annabelle award (conferred by the Swiss women's magazine annabelle) will be presented during Stella Fashion Night 08 on 13 November at the Maag Event Hall in Zurich.

The jury members for the Swiss Textiles Award have now been appointed. On the same evening, Patricia Field, stylist for the TV series “Sex and the City” and Marios Schwab, last year's Swiss Textiles Award winner, will be showing their latest collections. Franziska Knuppe, the German supermodel, will host the evening's festivities.

The Swiss Textile Federation ('Swiss Textiles') will present the Swiss Textiles Award for the ninth time on 13 November 2008 at the Maag Event Hall in Zurich. This is one of the world's most lucrative and celebrated fashion prizes for promising young designers. The prize money for the competition winner is 100,000 euros. The six Swiss Textiles Award finalists were selected by an international panel of experts from the fashion world during a nomination process. These designers have been successfully working on the international fashion scene for several seasons now. They are:

Rodarte: Sisters Laura and Kate Mulleavy hail from Pasadena, California and are self-taught. In the space of just three years from when the label began, Rodarte has become one of the most sought-after newcomers at New York Fashion Week.

Richard Nicoll - Since graduating from Central St Martins, the 31 year old British designer has had a series of successes. Dolce & Gabbana bought his first collection in 2002 straight from the graduate's catwalk. In the years that followed, Richard Nicoll worked for such distinguished names as Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton.

Toga - The creative mind behind the Japanese fashion label is Yasuko Furuta. She founded her company Toga in 1997 and chose a reference to the garments worn by Romans as the name of her label. The 37 year old studied in Japan and at the Esmod Fashion School in Paris from which she graduated in 1994.

Jean-Pierre Braganza - Jean Pierre Braganza grew up in Toronto, Canada. He went on to study at Central Saint Martins in London. The 28 year old is fascinated by human forms and takes a constantly changing approach to the human physique as a base for his creations. Since making his debut at London Fashion Week, he has worked with a wide range of fabrics and forms. He recently created a special collection to mark the 200th anniversary of the Australian Wool Federation - his name was put forward for this task by Karl Lagerfeld.

Louise Goldin (Great Britain) - This young British woman has liberated knitwear from its dusty image and shows the material in strikingly modern forms with unusual patterns on the international catwalks.

Cathy Pill - The 26 year old Belgian trained at the famous “La Cambre” fashion school in Brussels (2005). Her creations take their inspiration in large measure from the Brussels art nouveau style of architecture and a bold futuristic colour palette.
