FDDI Rohtak gives major boost to emerging leather industry

Apart from providing technical and managerial support, the infrastructure support will also be provided to the local industries through this centre which will be a great help especially for the small and medium enterprises in terms of achieving quality standardization and enhancement of productivity.

The Managing Director of FDDI, Mr. Rajeev Lakhara, IRS, in his 'Welcome Speech' said, “FDDI headquartered at NOIDA, was initially set up by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India in Noida with an objective to train the professional manpower for the industry. In just a span of two decades FDDI has evolved from being India's premier institute to a notable international training institute. FDDI is among the first institute in the world to get prestigious ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification.”
“FDDI centre will be a milestone in the planned development of Rohtak which heralds the educational & industrial revolution in Haryana.” Mr. Deepender Singh Hooda, Member of Parliament.
“FDDI, Rohtak will give a major boost to the emerging leather industry in the neighboring States such as Punjab, H.P. and Uttrakhand to meet the huge demand of qualitatively trained professionals,” added Mr. Lakhara.
He further said that “Despite the global recessionary pressures, the students of FDDI are getting placement offers from 2-3 companies at entry-level management positions in the industry with the best pay package ranging from Rs. 20-25 thousand per month.”
“FDDI Rohtak, will be a milestone in the growth of the State. Its establishment will make Rohtak a hub of education.” Mr. Shadi Lal Batra, MLA, Rohtak.
He also said that “FDDI is collaborating with leading design & fashion Institutes in the world for offering World Class Design oriented programmes at FDDI, Rohtak. The talks are going on with AR Sutoria- Milan, Italy, Mode Pelle- Milan, Italy & Fashion Institute of Technology- New York, America.”
