CIBELES MADRID NOVIAS Fashion Show is a great success

The seventh edition of the INTERNATIONAL BRIDAL FASHION EXHIBITION, PUERTA DE EUROPA'09 and the first edition of the Fashion Show, CIBELES MADRID NOVIAS, ended with some highly satisfactory results, based on some strong attendance figures and the buoyant trading climate in which the event took place. Between 23rd and 26th April, a total of 4,751 professionals attended the seventh edition of the most important wedding fashion fair in Spain, the first edition under IFEMA's organisation. The fair took place in Hall 14.1 at Feria de Madrid.

The more than 165 Spanish and foreign brands taking part at this edition with their collections of bridal gowns and bridegroom outfits, party-wear, First Communion attire, accessories and trade equipment for the year 2010 season, revealed a general level of satisfaction with regard to the results they achieved and the quality of the contacts they managed to establish.

Through the participation of these brands, visitors were able to discover at first hand the latest wedding fashion and party-wear trends in terms of design, colours, materials and accessories for the new season, on show at the different stands throughout the exhibition, thus completing the overall vision that visitors were offered at the CIBELES MADRID NOVIAS Fashion Parades.

In this respect, Puerta de Europa has taken a step forward in terms of establishing itself as the most important wedding fashion event in Spain and one of the leading points of reference among fashion professionals throughout the world. This edition of the fair was the last that will be staged under the name "Puerta de Europa", given that as of 2010, both the fair and its fashion show will be known as CIBELES MADRID NOVIAS.

With this new name, IFEMA aims to provide a boost for the fair and its fashion show at a national and international level, taking advantage of the synergies generated by Madrid in its capacity as a leading forum for Spanish fashion and a key showcase for the best design made in Spain, with CIBELES providing the main point of attraction.

During the course of the last edition of PUERTA DE EUROPA, whose marketing continues to be managed by the company, EXPOTECNIC, the fair confirmed its position as an essential meeting for all professionals from this industry. Among the Spanish visitors, who accounted for some 87% of the total, we might highlight the large numbers who attended the fair from the following regions, listed in order of importance: the Madrid Region, Andalusia, Castile-Leon, the Valencian Region, Castile-La Mancha, Catalonia, Murcia and Galicia. With regard to foreign buyers, the fair welcomed a total of 396 professionals. France was the country that sent the largest number of professionals to the last edition, followed by Portugal, Italy, the United Kingdom, Germany, Russia and Mexico, among others, forming part of a total of 22 different countries.

The first edition of the Cibeles Madrid Novias Fashion Show could be considered a resounding success. This event took place within the framework of PUERTA EUROPA on 23rd and 24th April, at the same venue habitually used by CIBELES MADRID FASHION WEEK. The success of this Fashion Show resided in both the excellent quality of the collections presented and the magnificent response on the part of the media and professionals from the industry.
