Emporio Armani men's collection makes natural sense of elegance

Emporio Armani presents men's collection for Spring/Summer 2010. Fashion as an expression of the cosmopolitan. This collection is about the pleasure of mixing sensations – sensations that evolve into colours, while impressions become shapes. As youthful as ever, “personalized and thought-out”, explains Giorgio Armani, “always focused on choosing a route and making it one's own through a natural sense of elegance”.

This is the portrait of an individualist generation: confident of its talents, already established, living with a new sense of international group identity. This generation has a connection, a network between different countries, professions and styles, and immense cities like Tokyo and New York are referenced here through a series of different moods and moments.

FIRST MOMENT. The new suit arrives in lightweight wool, dynamic and extra fine, presented in cool shades of grey. It has a fitted cut, the jacket with defined shoulders, slightly longer than before and with marginally lower waist, and the trousers with small darts at the front and turn-ups. It is very city smart but also comfortable, like the T-shirts in soft jersey, which feel almost as smooth as silk. Alternatively, there are well made cotton suits, constructed with slim lapels on slightly shorter jackets. Trenches and parkas are in techno wool, thermo welded, as perfect on the inside as on the outside.

SECOND MOMENT. In an unpredictable ambience like the one typical of an Oriental avant-garde city, patterns and unexpected colours come to the fore; like in the jacket in techno mesh with contrasting pinpoint pattern (resembling a neck tie fabric), and mesh clutch bags and stretch trousers with anatomical features emphasized by jersey and strong lines. Micro pierced fabrics have been selected for some remarkable and comfortable jackets and trousers: the same mesh theme recurs throughout the accessories.

THIRD MOMENT. Formal suits abandon every vestige of solemnity. Created in ultra lightweight 130/140S wools, these suits have fitted trousers. These are teamed with shirts in double twist cotton, in plain white with black zip and techno mesh.

FOURTH MOMENT. Orange grabs the attention in contrast with black and white: this colour combination is used in a wide range of pieces, from jackets to fleeces, as well as on pullovers in a knit look weave of leather strips. There are fleeces with nylon linings and knitwear with features that look like digital prints.

There is a wind of change in the air that influences the creative process. A touch of Zen, with contrasting polka dots and faded tones running from smoke grey to watery green, featured on the tops, Bermudas, silky cardigans, shirts and jackets, both formal and informal.
