FitFlop Microwobbleboard, meeting New Year resolutions

Over 4 million FitFlops have been sold since their launched in May 2007 and with no real end to the recession in sight, the health benefits offered by the FitFlop Microwobbleboard TM technology is estimated to continue to provide an affordable alternative to monthly gym memberships.

This week FitFlop launched their latest Walkstar III design, a contemporary restyling of the classic Walkstar FitFlop as well as new colour options for the Walkstar, Oasis and Electra sandals.

With many women making a New Year resolution to get in shape, sales of FitFlops have surged and with a bleak 0.1% increase in the British economy announced, more people than ever are looking to cut costs in their leisure time.

Fortunately for FitFlop retailer Fitness Footwear, the first place many shoppers look for a bargain is online.

With 5 years of online retailer experience Fitness Footwear is at the forefront of ecommerce in the health and fitness market, specialising in a selection of sports and outdoor shoes from watersport sandals to walking boots, running shoes and of course, FitFlops.

The Hertfordshire based sports and outdoors specialist has already sold record numbers of the FitFlop Gogh throughout the Christmas period and FitFlop sales continue to grow in the aftermath of snow and ice that ground the UK to a halt.

"Now that the snow is gone, our business is back in full swing with FitFlops selling like hotcakes as usual." said Fitness Footwear MD Luke Barlow.

FitFlops are a big seller for the sports and outdoors specialist and with a focus on both fitness and footwear, a growing number of consumers feel confident in shopping with them despite not being a well known high street brand.

Mr Barlow explained the reasons for the success of his online store in promoting the FitFlop brand in particular:

"I think that the reason we are so successful with FitFlops and similar products is because we offer supporting information and guides to answer any questions a customer may have.

More expensive fitness products tend to require a little bit more explaining to justify their higher cost. There tends to be a lot of technology and specialist features that go into these high end items, so it's important that the benefits of these are clearly and concisely explained.

For example, it may not always be appropriate to explain every detail of the way in which FitFlops simulate barefoot walking to burn more calories. Some customers may only want the hard and fast facts, while others may want to read more information before making a purchase. So we do our best to cater for both types of customer."

Fortunately for Fitness Footwear and other online retailers, FitFlop hasn't been shy about the technology behind their products or the benefits of wearing them whilst doing the housework, picking up the kids from school or just going for a stroll.

FitFlopsare designed to increase leg, calf and gluteal muscle activity, improve posture and improve muscle tone through destabilization of the feet while mimicking the gait of barefoot walking.
