Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) and Van Heusen, India's leading lifestyle brand have yet again come together on the platform of The 'Van Heusen India Mens Week' to position India as the 4th Fashion Capital of the World to host an independent Mens Week with the second season of Van Heusen India Mens Week

'Van Heusen India Mens Week 2010' will be held in New Delhi from August 27 – 29, 2010 at The Grand and will feature 16 shows and over 17 exhibitors. It promises to be a world class event showcasing the very best of Indian talent.

Designers will be invited to cover the widest range of men's fashion – menswear and accessories, under one roof, affording buyers and consumers the widest possible selection of fashion for men. A promising talent selected through the 'Van Heusen Emerging Designer of the Year Contest 2010 in association with FDCI' will not only be felicitated, but will earn a chance to showcase designs at the Fashion Week itself.

Elaborating on the association Sunil Sethi, President, FDCI, said, “Men are extremely aware and active contributors to the growth of fashion today, they are actually cultivating loyalties for designers and lifestyle brands. Menswear dominates a larger per cent of branded apparel sales in the country and is said to be growing at a CAGR of 15%. The second season of 'Van Heusen India Mens Week' aims to give menswear designers a structured impetus and the much needed platform to tap this potential of men's fashion in India.”

Speaking on the Van Heusen;s alliance with the forthcoming India Mens Week, Mr Shital Mehta, COO, Van Heusen, said, ”From the very inception , Van Heusen has constantly brought international fashion to the doorstep of Indian consumer. We are extremely excited with the platform we have been able to create for men's fashion in India through Van Heusen's association with India Mens Week.

“We are encouraged by the exceptional response Van Heusen India Mens Week received last year, it was logical that we continue the association and grow further alongside. I look forward to many more successful innings with FDCI” Fashion Design Council of India: A not for profit organization FDCI is the apex fashion council of India. Represented by over 300 designers, FDCI takes Indian fashion global by promoting the 'business of fashion'.
