Yahya Stapic opens doors to UAE fashion talent

Entrepreneurship is the backbone of any economy, and it is vital that we provide students with the skills and knowledge to play an active part in diversifying and contributing to the UAE economy,” said Rachael Wunsch, General Manager, ATI.

“We chose Yahya as our inaugural winner as much for his unique idea as for his business nous. United Designers plays right to the UAE's growing appetite for independent fashion labels as consumers become more discerning about design over brand,” Wunsch added.

As Stapic prepares to open the doors on his winning business, The Big Start gets underway to find the next student entrepreneur. The competition is now open to all final year undergraduate university students studying in the UAE, regardless of nationality, university or faculty. Qualifying students have until 23rd December 2010 to submit their initial business ideas online at thebigstart.ae and be in the running to be crowned the UAE's best and brightest student entrepreneurs.

The Big Start is an initiative that provides students in the UAE the opportunity to turn their business ideas into a reality. Launched in 2009, The Big Start is an annual event which aims to encourage entrepreneurship and is open to all final year undergraduate students currently studying in the UAE.
