The Woolmark Company is showcasing the Wool Lab Autumn/Winter 2016-17 collection at the 21st edition of Milano Unica, which began from September 8, 2015.

“The Woolmark Company has selected the best wool products worldwide and identified emerging trends from fashion, design, art, pop culture, music and other fields,” it said in a press release.

According to the Aussie wool marketer, the Wool Lab is a collection of inspirational books as well as an accredited sourcing guide, which aims to inspire and inform fashion professionals about the new trends.

“It also offers infinite potential of wool and provides a concrete sourcing guide for the best fibres and yarns,” it added.

The Wool Lab AW 16/17 is presented at the most important trade shows worldwide as well as through its global network, along with one-to-one meetings set up with top designers, brands, manufacturers and retailers.

Milano Unica will also be the launch pad for the new season of The Wool Lab Preview S/S 17 and for the Wool Lab Preview Magazine S/S 17.

The Wool Lab Preview inspires weavers and spinners to create their wool fabrics and yarns that will be shown in the final version of The Wool Lab and includes valuable archival items that convey the long and fascinating history of wool.

The Wool Lab Preview Magazine is the printed copy that summarises all the materials that are available in the Wool Lab Preview.

It contains photos of the inspirational and archival fabric swatches, along with images aligned to the different seasonal themes.

The Woolmark Company highlights Australian wool's position as the ultimate natural fibre and premier ingredient in luxury apparel.

The Woolmark Company is a subsidiary of Australian Wool Innovation, a not-for-profit enterprise owned by more than 25,000 woolgrowers that invests in research, development and marketing. (AR)
