Spanish company Jeanologia which specialises in the development of sustainable technologies for garments finishing will be introducing its latest innovations in sustainable finishing: i-Knits collection focused on athletic wear and developments for denim Pure Eco at the New York Kingpins Show on 21st and 22nd July, the company said in a press statement.

iKnits has been created for sporting activity. This collection blends technology with functionality providing performance features such as moisture management to standard raw material through eFlow technology.

With the combination of laser technology, ozone G2 and eFlow the Spanish firm achieves different finishing on different materials such as cotton, neoprene or cupro and brings new possibilities to performance apparel markets.

Through Pure Eco collection, Jeanologia shows new developments to create a range of denim finishes using the eFlow technology: low impact processes - One glass of water one garment. To achieve vintage looks, natural effects and 3D, just one glass of water is needed.

“We can make a beautiful & authentic product in a sustainable and environmental cost saving way. What matters is not only the product itself, but also the way it is made, how it is produced; that is part of the DNA of the product,” said Roberto Muñoz Americas, division director.

Jeanologia, wants to encourage American designers to use technology to achieve new effects and finishing in their collections through sustainable and efficient processes without compromising on the final look.

Muñoz added, “We want to encourage designers to take on the new creative revolution through technology. Today it is possible to break down the barriers between creativity and technology, fashionistas and technocrats, designers and engineers. Creativity, sustainability, innovation & technology are the key to the new industrial era.”

Jeanologia will also show new developments both in knits and denim thanks to the combination of the tools Light Ripper and Light Scrapper, exclusive to laser machinery from Jeanologia, it said.

Light Ripper is the easiest and more precise way to distress jeans. This laser innovation allows the creation of different types of damages from heavily worn-in looks with breaks & over repairs to creative and original damaged patterns that renews the traditional denim bases. The use of rigid and power stretch fabrics give us an idea of the applicability of Jeanologia’s tool.

Light Scraper is a new optical technology that allows the cloning of worn or scraped looks, and creates authentic virtual slubs on standard denim fabric. Light Scraper creates open and denim, ring spun denim, crosshatch or slub. (SH)
