Li Ning promises to eliminate toxic & environmental wastes

Li Ning Company said on its official website that, it will take 8 to 10 years to reduce and eliminate environmental affecting chemicals from its all products and (including footwear, apparel and sports accessories) and entire production chain (including all levels of suppliers and raw material supply).
The company added that it will draft a detailed plan within six months and that, it will continue to strictly implement national standards in production process and products tests and pursue higher corporate standards through its own efforts.
Industrial experts say that 'To reduce and eliminate' does not mean completely elimination, as a national brand leader, Li Ning should make practical commitment as soon as possible in the face of the problems regarding China's pollution and people's health.
Greenpeace has advised global clothing brands to meet three basic requirements referring to eliminating toxic and harmful residues.
First, make commitment to eliminate and not reduce all toxic and harmful substances from their supply chain. Second, disclose the information of their use and emissions of toxic and hazardous substances in their supply chain. The third, to develop an open and clear timetable for their action plan.
