Invention & tradition inspire Laura Ashley for A/W

Laura Ashley, the home decor and furnishings specialists, has released its Womenswear Range for Autumn and Winter 2011.

This new season of Womenswear boasts 11 separate collections, each designed by theme, with ideas and looks for the contrasting demands of modern womanhood, from silver screen glamour to casual chic perfect for school-runs.

The range begins with the Appledove, an easy-to-wear collection inspired by coastal colours. The theme's designs feature relaxed shapes and fabrics, silohettes and shadow prints in greens, blues and greys.

The Dressage Collection is storyboarded to reflect all things equestrian. On offer are rich truffle colours and fun and autumnal prints. Crinkle cotton, gillets and tunic dresses are all part of the range, which give the dressage look a contemporary, feminine twist; a perfect way to bring a bit of the country into the city, or vice versa.

The entire Autumn Winter launch is inspired by invention and tradition. Nowhere is this more apparent – or pretty – than in collections such as Orient Express, which spills with nostalgic glamour, nodding to 1950s train journeys embarked upon by glamorous strangers. The theme continues to nod to the modern nostalgic, with references to Mad Men, fitted pastels and pinks, feminine florals and shift dresses.

With this expanse of collections and the delicate marriage of tradition and invention, Laura Ashley customers can find something for every taste and occasion.
