The sportswear maker, Umbro, was able to boost its sales in China by 70 percent due to football mania during 2005 but its sales went down in Britain.
England's football team gets its sportswear supplies from Umbro. The company's total turnover fell to 1.2 percent with revenue collection of £351.9 million but operating profits went up from £22.1 million to £33.4 million, year on year.
The company suffered a setback as its licensed clothes sales in Britain went down 18 percent and contract loss with Celtic coupled with lack of tournaments involving England team made matters worse.
Umbro is set to suffer from the similar loss of contract with Chelsea for which it had received a £25 million payoff.
